Just a FYI if your goin to be shooting using the camera the whole time your filming the gps is active resulting in 40% battery loss in 20 minutes! Before you film anything turn the camera off in location settings!!

So what you're saying is that by using the camera, your battery will be used?

Good to know. Thanks! :)

Always a smart arse floating around!

What I am saying is if you are filming anything the gps chip becomes active and rather than locating you and switching off like when you take a picture it stays active the whole time like you were running a satnav app. The net result is massive battery drain!

haha Well someone has to. Its Friday.

But yes, I understand what you're saying. But isn't this the same result for anything that is actively using the phone. Since you're using the camera and the gps, thats twice the drain as others. So it kind of makes sense.

But its good for people to at least know when they're videoing that the battery is going to be used faster.

FRIDAY FRIDAY GETTIN DOWN ON FRIDAY....etc

Seriously, though, to the OP - are you on a 4 or 4S? Assuming you went out using it as an actual camcorder - how much time did you get out of it with the GPS enabled? Disabled? Did you even test it either way?

I'm just curious :p

With location services on 20 minutes of video is 40% of your battery. With it off 20 minutes consumes 4-5%
