Just curious.... I don't have an older phone to compare with.
I noticed the other day that when taking close ups (from many distances), the camera always focuses on the background even with a prominent object in the foreground.... and even with the yellow box positioned directly over the foreground object. Is this normal behavior? Or is there an option I need to set? It makes the camera utterly useless for any sort of compositions with a foreground object. In the photo below the yellow box was over the mantis' head but the grass behind it is in better focus.
