Camera connection kit and iPod Touch 64

Hi everyone,

Does the camera connection kit work with the iPod Touch 64 gb.

I think no but I though, if updated to the latest OS, then the iPad and iPod Touch had the same OS.

Any advice welcomed! I am off to search some more.
