Camera connection kit, is it picky or what?

So i tried to use it last night.

First up was the SD card reading, put in a 4G SDHC Sandisk card. It is unreadable. Apparently it is not supported for some reason, may be because it is i just put in some jpeg into the card?

Not to much bother i thought as my 5Dii shoots CF anyway. So I used the USB connector, plugged in my Sandisk USB reader into it, and it turns out it dares too much power????? What the hell, its not a big USB dock.

So i have the camera kit but until i can find a USB CF card reader that works with the iPad, i can't use it.

I have an 8Gb SDHC that worked.

If you suspect it's an erroneous file you put on the card, can you not just simply delete or remove them from the card and try again?

Oh the USB port was useless for me too, as my camera immediately goes for charging itself from USB, and of course I got the too much power warning then.

Camera kit has worked great for my two cameras. Hell of a lot better than putting them on PC and transferring over.

I bought it for my iPad & CCK and it works fine. It's now apart of my photo bag (not to mention my iPad)

Edit: well it works most of time. I just did a test. The reader works fine with my SD Extreme IV CFs, but when I use my new SD Extreme (60MB/s) CF card it says the accessory uses too much power. Go figure. I guess the newer card tries to read/write faster than the older ones, and draws too much power. Oh well, if I need to use the faster card, I'll just have to plug my Nikon straight into my iPad. Such as life.

Where did you purchase it from? Ebay maybe. Could be a counterfeit/fake?

I got it from the Apple Store. If its fake then i am filing a law suit

IT is probbaly drawing too much power, the problem is I only have high speed cards, All Sandisk Extreme cards, slowest is 30mb/s.

The one I tried last night, the 45mb/s one didn't work. But it kinda sucks that it only works with some card and not others.

The ipad should have had two dock connections one on the bottom, and one on the side - so not only could we dock horizontally, it would have allowed users to at least plug in & power the ipad if using an accessory which does draw power from the port.
