If one were to get an iPad 3G and a camera connector kit, would one be able to plug a laptop connect card into the USB port instead of getting the data plan? I already have the laptop connect card for one of my computers and don't want to have to pay an extra thirty dollars a month for a service I already have.

I think there may be some portable routers you can plug your laptop card into, and share it as a normal wifi signal with your iPad....
I would imagine that they are somewhat specific, so you have to make sure your portable router accepts whatever usb dongle you have.
