I just ordered a 27" iMac from Apple. I prefer using a desktop to do my work (Machine Learning software prototype on Mac, and amateur photo processing.) I don't like the idea of having a camera looking at me. I have seen camera covers for MBP. Does iMac use the same camera covers?

Looking around at existing ones on Amazon looks like they all state ones for MacBook Pros will work for iMacs. However, with the T2 chip in the iMac, it can't activate it unless you've given proper permission, and when it is activated the green light will always be visible.
