Hi!

I have Sigma 100-400 with an adapter attached to my A6000 series. This combination is a bit ‘long’ and I need to find a compact way to protect it while travelling/storing it.

The lens is covered - no issues here. But the camera sticks out on top of the lens. I do not want to remove it each time when not using it due to sensor dust issues.

I was thinking - Is there some kind of a drawstring bag with wide enough opening so I can put it on top of the camera body while it is attached to the lens? Camera/lens is sitting in my (normal) backpack while taking it around, therefore I just need to protect it from dust, light scratches. Bag does not have to be something extreamly thick/protective in this case - it would mostly need to deal with dust issues more (currently).

Any other ideas?

Philadelphia.
Those blue polypropylene shoe covers that they use in hospitals or that contractors use when they come into your house should work very nicely.

This “footwear” idea actually came to my mind as well , however I’d like to find something more permanent and designated for the specific purpose.

I had another idea - to ‘modify’ small camera pouch - took it to a dressmaker, will let you know how that works out.

It came from AliExpress originally:
“Roadfisher Camera Lens Bag Case Padded Pouch Cover Fit Canon Nikon Sony Tamron”

You just need somebody with sewing skills to cut hole in this bag :)

Shower cap or a custom solution like the one above. Ideally, you'd probably want some type of moisture wicking cover with a moisture repellent exterior.

I have a neoprene lens pouch that I use a lot as it has a clip to connect to a strap on a backpack.

Also Domke wraps are great
