Camera focus not working (update, working, user error)

Anyone else having problem using tap to focus in the camera? When taking close up photos, focus seems locked to right side on frame, taping on other areas, such as center, does nothing to correct focus, so result is blurry,

I'm using ios17 RC, on iPhone 14 pro.

Thanks, I realized its me user error, I'll update title. I was doing test shots closer than 8 inches (not macro) and forgot that iPhone 14 pro can't get as close as earlier models (except in macro mode).

side note... heic max is quite good, seems less of that horrible over processing sharpening. It still there but much less, and higher quality photo.

Absolutely - it'll be my go-to mode for photos from now on. Another thing - it gives much more flexibility when cropping in post
