I use Windows Explorer to select and copy over any photos I want on my PC. I don't use iCloud or iTunes or the Photos app for pictures I take with my iphone 6s. So far, I'm quite content with this process/arrangement.
Now, in the phone's DCIM folder, there are currently four folders - 104APPLE through 107 APPLE - with varying numbers of pictures in each of them. I'd like to consolidate these pictures into as few folders as possible. (I can't remember but assume at some point I must have copied all the photos out of 101APPLE through 103APPLE and those folders got deleted, either by me or the phone's IOS.)
However, I can't drag photos from one folder to another. I also can't copy photos to my laptop and then drag them into a folder on the phone.
The only method I've found is to email the photos to myself. Then I can go into the email and press on a picture and select to save it to the camera app. (ugh ... inorite)
I would like a less laborious (and free) process. Has anyone figured out a way to do this?
PS: Also wondering if anyone knows how many photos a folder can hold before it creates a new folder.
