Hi does anyone know of a good website that explains when to use a certain "f" setting and also how long i should set the exposure for a shot?

thanks!

well what camera and lens are you using.

the lower the aperture ("f") the more light that is let in.

are you shooting in the day or at night.

I don't know about a website, but the book Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson has a good overview of the f/ stops and depth of field subject.

You can find it in just about any bookstore and it's a pretty easy read with lots of photographic examples so you get a feel for what he's talking about.

Good luck.
