Hey guys

I have about 350 to spend a brand new camera

and I cant decide on whether purchase the canon sd 630
or a sony dsc t7

Any other camera options from more experienced photographers than I would also be of great help

Obviously I am looking for a small digital cam, but I can sacrifice for a larger size one if it its trly great

Help would be appreciated
thanks

thanks guys

but could you try not to make another question out mine
That wasn't the point of my post.

I was pointing out what I perceive to be the major shortcoming of the cameras you are condidering, and offering a couple of other choices.

  • Neither of the cameras have an optical viewfinder, thus I would not consider them.
  • Neither of the cameras offer Image Stabilization, which is far more important for a small camera as they tend to be hard to hold steady.
Thus, small cameras with IS like the Lumix or the more expensive Canon SD700 are attractive.

If I had to choose between the two you are looking at, I'd go for the Canon, just because I've owned lots of Canons and feel comfortable wit the controls.
