There is an icon appearing in the top right corner of some but not all imessages.

What is this icon telling me and can it be removed.

Those users are using iMessage and you can FaceTime them, I don’t believe you can get rid of it.

I don’t believe it’s new, it’s showing you the ability to FaceTime them not the other way round.

It isn't new and since you stated that you imessage them daily is it possible they had facetime turned off and recently turned it on?
