Seriously, from my understanding the ipad has software plug-INS to accomodate a camera and a hole where a camera could be installed. What's stopping somebody from etching a hole in the glass and installing a camera where it was originally supposed to be anyway? If somebody was to do this I would totally buy it.
iPad 3.2 software has the abilities to video chat? And use the camera why not just buy iSight camera and glue it in there

discuss: possibility

Sure

A little super glue, some duct tape... no problem. Maybe you could put wings on it too... throw it out the window and watch it fly.

You can't deny the possibility. Sure I might have not
chosen the right word "glued" but it's very possible.

You'll also have to hack the OS and unlock all the camera-related features and apps that will be disabled by default.

....also since it's "very possible" and you (the OP) seems to know after I have cut the hole and glued the camera in where do I solder the leads?

This.

Also, keep in mind that the iPod touch also has a space for a camera. So far no one's drilled a hole, installed a camera, and hacked the OS...and the newest iPod touch has been out for a few months already.

tape your iPhone onto your iPad. You'll have a camera...

Look. maybe you haven't figured out that everyone finds this idea amusing. But let me tell you straight up - it's not possible. At all. 0% chance you'd get this to work.
