Camera not recognised

I purchased a AOBOCAM Q18 Spy Camera that appears to function correctly but is not recognised by my2019 iMac 21.5 running Sonoma up-to-date. I have contacted the company, who have given me a list of instructions, which I have followed, but the camera does not appear in Face Time, System Settings or Image Capture. There is some info on the web regarding updated security for Sonoma that results in some cameras using older OS's not working and the recommendation is to use a legacy system for these. Anyone come across this problem?
