I really like the new photo styles, but I can't get them to be consistently available on the photos that I take. As an example, these are two pictures that I took today. (No critique of the photos needed.) The metadata for these two photos appears to be very similar, but styles are only available on the second pic — the one of the red tree. The other pic has reverted to the old filters and styles are not available. I can't figure out why. Out of dozens of pics, I can't see anything consistent in whether styles work or not. Did I tweak something weird without knowing it? Is it a bug? Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried preserve settings in the camera settings?
I've had preserve settings on for years. When a new photo styles are applied, it is applied as preserved. The problem is that it randomly just isn't applied.
