It seems like the camera app starts in 'HDR auto' every time by default, but I much prefer to always start it in HDR or, even better, to always remember my last settings.

Is there a tweak for this?

What phone and version of iOS? I thought 8 fixed it even on the 5.

8.1 on the 6 plus. Every time I open the camera it's on auto HDR, and I have to manually select HDR. The flash stays off, though, weird.

Shockingly, the 6s doesn't fix this and iOS 9 doesn't fix this.

There is no way to turn HDR on by default!

If you turn HDR on and do NOT turn the flash on it will stay on HDR. But the moment you change your flash to Auto or On, HDR will change to off.

HDR does not work with the flash.

This is one of the reasons I like the Phototorch tweak because it will turn the flash on period and allow HDR.

Doesn't work as my flash is always disabled. Try it. HRD stays on for a while but at some random point when you want to take a picture, load up your camera and HRD will turn itself off again (go back to the default of 'auto')

I also have phototorch but the thing is on my phone the light just stays on it doesn't actually flash so still the photo quality is not as good as the actual flash sometimes. Can't actually complain though as it is the best solution so far in terms of some semblance of light with HDR.
