After I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1, my camera no longer works under the lock screen. Restrictions are off and I can't find anything else that could possibly be the problem. Does anyone else have this issue?

Is the camera button there when you double tab Home? Is it there but you press it and nothing happens?

A little more info please. Something that's "not working" doesn't garner a whole lot of support.

Good to know. I won't be updating until there is a viable jailbreak.

Still, I'd like to help the OP but there is not enough info to. I was just pressing for more.

My assumption is that the OP expected the camera icon to function as a button, rather than as a slider.

Several threads have been started on these forums by people confused about this and it's not surprising. Apple hasn't told users about the change.

Thanks Daveoc64! Sorry for the late response. Indeed, I was expecting it to work as a button and not like the slider notification function and couldn't figure it out. It would have been nice if Apple made that a bit more clearer, with regards to that particular functionality being changed. I figured something went wrong with my update because of it and really didn't want to make a thread on this, but it started to frustrate me. Apologies.

Honest question: What did you think when the screen bounced as you hit the button?
I thought something was wrong, I wasn't hitting the button right, etc. It really didn't dawn on me to slide it like the notifications. Usually I'm not that retarded and I'm pretty intuitive, when it comes to figuring things out, but for whatever reason I was like wtf?! Go figure eh? Once Dave said what it was, I was like, "Wow, you have got to be kidding me." Good thing this wasn't a life or death situation or I would definitely be nominated for the Darwin Awards, LOL.

I have to agree that it's not particularly clear.

In iOS 5.0.1 there used to be a button there, so I don't think it's unreasonable for people to expect that to continue.

Apple did not publicise the change at all, so it's not like people just ignored the change log.
