Cameras for Mac?

Okay... I am looking for advice on camera purchases. I'm a pro photographer, but one of my bosses is an ABSOLUTE novice. Knows computer 101 and that's about it.

He wants a VERY VERY easy-to-use camera that will allow him to do the bare minimum: take a photo, put it on his PowerBook, and email it out (preferably at a reduced size). Image quality and features are not that important - useability is the most important thing.

Can someone point me in the direction here? I know the high-end product line very well, but not much about the consumer products and which are the best, easiest to use, etc.

Most of the point and shoots that are worth having are capable of significant complexity. That said, if all you want is to stay in fully automatic mode, that can be accomplished fairly easily. You may have to read the manual a bit to get the ideal settings for that fully automatic mode, but once set the manual can be put down forever.

A really nice point and shoot camera is the Canon A620. My mother in law has one and it takes nice pictures and is easy once you set it up.

By default most cameras will come ready for easy point and shoot automatic mode right out of the box, so it may not matter which camera you choose. To meet your friend's needs however, he will probably need to change the resolution of the camera so that he is taking small-resolution pictures by default. After that snapping pics, hooking up the camera, letting iPhoto suck them in, and emailing them is a breeze (they have a Mac right?). Getting iPhoto to be the default app is pretty easy. It is much easier for a begineer than using the camera companies' propietary software.
