Camping in RI or CT?

I'm looking to take my girlfriend camping this summer. I was wondering if anybody here has gone camping in Rhode Island/Connecticut, and know of any good campgrounds, preferably in the Bridgeport CT or South Kingstown/Narragansett RI areas.

Seeing as I am from SK, I'd say SK all the way. Summer in RI can't be beat.

I haven't camped in that area, but the first place I would check would be the state parks. They are always far cheaper than private campgrounds where I am, and are often beautiful, beautiful places to camp.

Hammonasset State Park in Madison CT is a good choice. Rocky Neck might be closer to you though.

That might be a little too far but I'll check it out anyway.

Edit: I should also mention I don't have a car so I'd probably be taking the train to Bridgeport and meeting up with my girlfriend there. She's in CT with her parents for the summer, but she goes to school in RI, thats how I met her. LOL
