My school uses BlueSocket. Should I expect problems with iPhone trying to get access? I assumed it would work fine.
Depends on how they have it set up. In the simplest (and thankfully most common) implementation, you connect and the first page you access will be an LDAP login (usually involving some sort of school e-mail or campus id login, commonly called a "NetID"). Enter that and your password, and you're authenticated.
If you don't see such a page, then the access point may be set up to require a
PPTP connection. Bluesocket usually handles this automatically via a javascript or activeX control in IE or Firefox, but obviously the iPhone has neither interface. The good news is, you can still set up a manual connection by going into Settings -> General -> Network -> VPN. Turn VPN On, select PPTP, and then enter in the relevant info (which you'll have to obtain from your campus IT department).
