I have a MB Pro 2020 13'. I also have an external monitor that supports 240hz. By default I am only able to display 144hz on the monitor when connected to my MB via HDMI on the adapter hub I have.

However, I want to use the full 240hz since my monitor supports it.

I am wondering if my monitor is limited via my MB's hardware capabilities or if it's because of my adapter.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You don't mention which 2020 MBP you have... Intel 4 port, Intel 2 port, or M1

Regardless, I'm not sure any of those three will support 240Hz on an external display.
