Was browsing in Firefox and a tab was hanging and everything froze, no cursor movement, then the machine just rebooted. No error message, just a reboot and all my windows came back up and everything is fine. This never happened before and the machine has been rock solid. Could this be a sign of potential trouble down the road? Imac is barely a year old.

Sounds like you had a software kernel panic that caused the reboot. Doesn't surprise me with Firefox as they continue to update with new versions. I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens more often. Also, you can check your logs to see exactly what happened when it rebooted.
