Can a FW400 port connect to my Mac Minis FW800?

Hi I want to connect my PC to my Mac in Target mode.

My PC has a 1394a port and the Mac Mini has a 1394b FW800.

Do I need to buy a 800 to 400 cable?

Will that work?

I,m going to use Mediafours Mac Drive once I have it working.

Yes, that will work, if you use a 6-pin to 9-pin Firewire cable.
