MP 1,1-5,1 Can a MacPro 5,1 burn a rx580?

it came with a 4870. Used it for a couple months (it was plugged into two 6 pin pcie power from the logic board). Now I got an rx580 and I'm using a cable I got from a chinese website like AliExpress (banggood) its a two mini 6 pin to 8 pin and I got my rx580. The first day it had an issue (the card got no power). I got it fixed, then it lasted for a week. and the same thing happened so the guy i bought it from changed the entire power circuit. Im about to get it. He told me to make sure its not my psu. Could a Macpro 5,1 psu do that? Or the pcie power cable?

An RX580 should work normally with a dual mini 6 pin to 8 pin.
Is it a Pulse version with JUST an 8 pin socket.
Some models have 6+8 pin.

Broken PSU can do a lot of damage, I would firstly replace the cables - they are really cheap and worth to try that first.
