Hi Y'all,
Can Activity monitor's Page ins/outs tell/signify that you need more memory?

When I switch users, there is a lot of disk activity. Once the activity subsides, the computer is usable. I think I need more RAM.
I presently have 1 G in a single proc PowerMac G5.

Top reports :
Processes: 163 total, 3 running, 160 sleeping... 605 threads 22:08:43
Load Avg: 1.12, 0.48, 0.37 CPU usage: 19.9% user, 26.9% sys, 53.2% idle
SharedLibs: num = 234, resident = 42.3M code, 4.63M data, 6.21M LinkEdit
MemRegions: num = 33144, resident = 370M + 23.5M private, 161M shared
PhysMem: 150M wired, 372M active, 305M inactive, 827M used, 196M free
VM: 14.9G + 152M 779865(0) pageins, 1033305(0) pageouts

Uptime is 6 days.

Your page outs are higher than your page ins...you could definitely use some more RAM.

It would help but it looks like you need a minimum of 4 GB until it will run really smoothly. Thank goodness your hard drive is quick.
