Can Activity Monitor Page Ins/Out , More Memory?

Hi Y'all,
Can Activity monitor's Page ins/outs tell/signify that you need more memory?

When I switch users, there is a lot of disk activity. Once the activity subsides, the computer is usable. I think I need more RAM.
I presently have 1 G in a single proc PowerMac G5.

Your page outs are higher than your page ins...you could definitely use some more RAM.

You said it! More RAM will definitely help as it won't have to write to the hard drive.

Think another Gig will do it?

It would help but it looks like you need a minimum of 4 GB until it will run really smoothly. Thank goodness your hard drive is quick.

1 Million pageouts in 6 days? That's crazy.


Get another 2 GBs, minimum.
