iOS Can an iphone app change its icon?

Topic says it all really, but my thoughts are if an installed app could modify its own icon and name thats displayed on the springboard, it could open up some interesting possibilities,

I kinda like the idea of these x1 x2 x3 x4 quick dial type apps, but they are so impersonal.

if you could add a pic of your loved one and change the apps title to your loved ones name, how much better would that be!

Configurable themes where you can add a pic into a couple of themed app frames

You'd still have to submit 4 apps to get 4 quick dials etc

You can add a badge to the icon, but the icon file itself seems to be write protected and/or digitally signed by Apple.

No. You cannot make any modifications to the application bundle without invalidating the codesigning on the bundle.
