Hey Guys, I have a Subaru w CarPlay. Crazy thing happens when we attach our phones via orig Apple cable. When you choose message in CarPlay, it displays like 6 old deleted messages ( Very Old ) . Happens on both of out phones. All the messages are deleted on the phone and iMessage is turned off on icloud! Its driving us crazy! Am I missing something? Apple was no help neither was Subaru! TIA

Just a wild guess here, as I don't have CarPlay, but maybe working like Apple Watch where old messages still show up there even when deleted off the phone. Ie. you need to delete them off the Watch individually.

In this case, what happens if you press on the messages in question? Or, does Subaru's stock interface have a text message function working over Bluetooth/USB? If so, a delete option in there?

I have a relative with CarPlay: next time I'm in their car, will see if there's a way to delete.

Car play doesnt let you delete anything from the carplay at all. ALl has to be done on the phone . Good assumption with the watch issue. I have the same issue on the watch. Imeesage is turned off on icloud, so they are being stored somewhere on the phone not in icloud. The watch is getting the old texts like the carplay from somewhere and apple has no idea!

Sounds almost like Carplay has them cached, have you tried forgetting the CarPlay connection and adding it again?

There is no option to delete in CarPlay, just an option to have it read it to you or send them one which starts up Siri to do whichever you've chosed.

Had the same issue with a 2019 Ford Escape when I was on IOS 13.XX something. Tried numerous things to get rid of them. Only one thing worked. Sold the car. 2021 Subaru now and haven't noticed the same problem.
