I have now run my iPad multiple times on my Sprint Overdrive 3G, AT&T wifi and Verizon wifi and none of them work well enough to run online videos. Even a 1 minute Youtube video takes a ridiculous amount of time to load, like 3-4 minutes. Whats the point of having the Youtube app?

I watched Steve Jobs' talk today talking about OS 4. I played it from Safari and since it's an Apple video, it's in some format the iPad already understands how to play. And I should also mention I played it over my home broadband. I have not tried using any cell myfi service with my iPad yet.

This has been happening to me lately too, YouTube starts off fine then stops and takes ages to load, clearing Internet cache history and cookies seemsmto help for a little while but it's a pia to have to do that all the time because you lose all your stored passwords. I think it might be due to the lack of ram on the iPad or something because it works fine for awhile after clearing those items but then it starts happening all over again eventually.

Thats what I was thinking. 256MB of RAM is really poor for a device like this. My Hero has 288MB....

Yes but it is really slow on some, but ok on others. I think someone posted yesterday that YouTube app plays the highest quality. I wish I could control that. Most of the time I just want to watch the video, doesn't have to be HD.

Youtube problem

I too have this problem. The funny things is, i can watch any other online videos just fine from my 3g connection on my iPad. Netflix, abc, etc all run fine and look great, which leads me to believe this is a problem either with the youtube app or youtube's servers.

This is true. ABC streams fine for me as well. I have been scared to try Netflix cause I was afraid it would take forever to load up like Youtube. Maybe I should try it though.
