Hi all,

I'm new to both Apple TV and to Flickr. When I first saw the ATV2 I saw it as a perfect present for my parents, in order to share family photos.

So I have created a Flickr account for both myself and them. I have set my content to "Friends & Family", and added their email as a F&F contact.

My question now is where do I put photos in order for them to see them on the Apple TV? Only photos that I tag as available to everyone show up.

Any help from someone who's gotten this working would be great.

You post them on the Flickr site (which it sounds like you already did) and then you tell the ATV, via the Photos option, to view them.

If you have added yourself as a contact on your parents ATV then you should see all the pictures on your Flickr site that you have made available.

Like OP said, pics that get posted publicly available to Everyone show up. Anything else (private, "friends and family"), will not.

It's a seriously weak implementation of Flickr. They don't both to use the API to log in you and view other photos you have access to, just a straight Public view, just like browsing the website.

(Even lamer is you CAN actually login to Youtube, but again there you can see your own videos that you have marked Private or Unlisted. Only Public. I think Apple is just trying to push MobileMe. But I digress.)

Thought it was just me. Dammit. Will just have to continue carrying photos around on a USB then, I'm not making my whole photo album public.

Seriously lame. Wish I'd have known this up front :(
