My laptop is one of those with the slight gap in the front right corner. I noticed that which way it lays in my bag (which way all the weight's falling on) affects the gap. I'm wondering if there's a way to keep the laptop nice and tight during transportation and jiggling around, so the gap problem doesn't become worse. I saw this, though I question whether it's tight enough:

Any other suggestions?

thanks!

There's a sticky on cases and sleeves with options. I use the Radtech sleeve because it's tight, almost weightless, and adds a second layer of protection to my briefcase. If you use a zippered case, you'll also have to take it out for airport security, whereas the Radtech can remain on, which was a concern to me after the fate of my last notebook computer at the hands of TSA.

Great - I'm assuming you mean the same one I provided the link to? It was the closest I've seen to what I'm looking for (in terms of one being really snug enough to hold that lid on tightly) after skimming that thread on sleeves/bags.

Yep, that's the one. I really wish it didn't say "PowerBook" in large letters on the side, but if I cared that much I'd have gotten a custom logo sleeve instead. Really, the fact that it can go in the scratch-inducing plastic bin with the sleeve on is quite valuable to me. If you get it, I suggest inserting the PowerBook face-first so that the hinges face the open side. It'll keep the latch from triggering, keep crap out of the optical drive on the 15/17" models, and it's safer to grab from that side.
