Every summer, when it's slow time for news, we get the same report "OMG the iPhone will be delayed to OCT!"

This happens pretty much every year! i don't blame the stupid media, especially when it's slow period for news, but i blame outlets like Engadget, MacRumors, Apple Insider etc you guys should know better

If the iPhone event is in September or October it doesn't make any difference, and it shouldn't be even called a delay....i don't understand why it should be reported

In the world of news reporting there are countless "news" items that are similar to this. Part of this kind of "news" is simply addressing the question, "When will you have some real news to report?"

But a case can always be made that, while not meaningful to many people, there are those to whom it is meaningful. In this case, retailers anticipating their peak sales season. That season has an indeterminate beginning, but a fairly finite end. If a key product will be absent from the shelves for part of that season, business is materially affected. That then affects inventory allocation decisions, product mix, advertising, etc.

There were no credible rumors about an iPhone 11 delay. And guess what, the entire iPhone 11 family launched on time.

So no, it does not happen every year.

In 2017, we heard about the iPhone X delay due to OLED and it was indeed delayed. In 2018, the XR was widely reported as delayed due to LCD notch and the late decision to add DSDS - and it was delayed.

I agree most years the reports end up being nothing, but I think this year it's fair to report on it since the source isn't some random company in the supply chain, but the CEO of Apple. I suspect his credibility may be a bit more solid than prior sources.

Do you want to be the exclusive delivery reporter?

It doesn't happen every year but this year they're literally posting "iphone will be delayed" and "iphone will not be delayed" articles every week. Thank god Apple confirmed the delay themselves so websites can sh the f up.

If such articles are of no interest to you, move along to something else. Personal problem solved. That way, articles that speak to delays can still be read by others.

Cuz it's all about the hype. Delayed iPhones either real or fabricated make headlines. It's the AppleMerryGoRound!

They're tech news sites. What do you expect? You don't turn on the weather network and complain that they always report when it's going to rain.

I swear to god it happens every year!

Even the reporting itself makes the news like the end of the wold!

and it's NOT just one time or two times reporting, they are SERIES OF NEWS starting from like December/January that go like this "That analyst that we don't trust checked supply chain in Asia and it looks like the good iPhones will be released late in November, but you will still get your Vanilla iPhone in September!"

"AND OH BTW THIS YEAR THE iPHONE WILL BE 50 DOLLERS MORE!!!!" OMG Which will also incite European customers to open several threads complaining about the price difference

LOL

1. Free speech
2. Zero journalism. Reporting misleading or even false news carry zero consequences today.
3. SEO/page hits as revenue motivation.

It didn't happen last year.

Dude i can share with you the links of every year it was reported....also this same news i typed above a few days ago because it was already reported by the same outlets earlier this year

and yes it did happen last year and the year before

Do you want me to tell what they are gonna report next?

I check these websites because i'm Apple fan boy and i want to know the latest rumors, not the same recycled headlines!

The news about having the iPhones released in two stages was reported earlier this year and it was reported last year and the year before?

Why are we repeating the same news because some useless analyst decided to fart the same news again!

Seriously guys this needs to stop

So share the links. Share the links based on credible sources about iPhone 11 being delayed.

This year you got the info from AAPL
CFO...so I think it’s real
Anything can change

It's OK you are new you only joined us back in 2017."The iPhone being delayed" headlines, not happen every year, now they happen several times a year lol

Next week, look for "Oh iPhone will come with this exclusive one colour than nobody knows about except our source in somewhere in Wuhan!"

And btw, that has been reported already earlier this year.....except this time they will add some spice to it, it will be like this "Only the Pro iPhones will get this exclusive colour" then weeks later you will get several conflicting reports wether this exclusive colour will come for all iPhones or just the Pro versions

I miss the gold ol' days of Apple news when in 2010 we had to wait for the new Macbook Pros, and Steve Jobs sent an email to one member saying something like "Not to worry" lol
