Lets just say I wanted to pay my iPhone service in advance for the next 12 months at least. Would ATT make such an arrangement with me? And if they would are there any incentives for doing so?

you can pay as much as you want. If you pay more then what's owed then you will have a negative balance until that extra money is used up. You will still get a monthly bill, but won't owe anything. Their is no advantage of doing this except that you don't have to worry about paying a cell bill.

I think you hit the nail on the head, I suppose it would be a psychological thing. Since I have the money now it would feel like I have no cell bill after a few months. I guess it's all in my mind.
