Can deleting email through computer delete on iPhone?

If I'm checking email at home----while im away from my phone--its annoying to come back to my phone and have a bunch of unread messages.....is there a way to sync so that if i read and/or delete a message on my computer, it will not show up as new on my iphone or visaversa?

Depends on how you're accessing your mail at home and on the iPhone. Do you know if you're using IMAP or SMTP and if not, who are you getting e-mail through?

I use roadrunner.....pretty sure when i set it up i had to type in smtp at least twice so i'm pretty sure SMTP...will it work?
