Can Diskaid add files to FileMagnet / MobileFinder / Datacase?

I haven't yet bought one of the non-free apps (such as Filemagnet, MobileFinder, Datacase or Files) that allow you to move files from my mac onto my iphone via WIFI and view them. One of the questions I have is about DiskAid (which is free) which enables me to connect my iphone to my mac (or PC) via USB and see folders and such on my iphone in an app like the Finder and add files through USB. This doesn't allow me to view these files on the iphone, just use it as a flash disk. What I'm wondering is if someone knows whether if I buy one of these programs, I can add files using DiskAid and view them through these other apps (such as Filemagnet, MobileFinder, Datacase or Files).

Can someone who has bought one of these programs download Diskaid and try it?

The reason I'm asking is that at work, I don't have access to Wifi network so these apps would be useless for moving files around. Connecting through USB would work fine and would be really helpful.

I can't access my MobileFinder folders using DiskAid. If someone figures it out, please post

I have TouchFS, Datacase and FileMagnet and can't see the folders for any of them using Diskaid

I'm in the same situation as you and desperate for a way to move files from iphone to machines without the machines being online.

Thanks guys for trying it out. That's disappointing as I was hoping it would work. Using Diskaid, it seems like there's access to everything in the filesystem (I think root). But I guess not, so I'll hold off on buying an app until someone comes up with a wired solution for transferring files that is also a file viewer.

yes, should be ok, just check on your Media partition any folder called under the name of the app, then drill down to see the type of files. Drag and drop the same type in the same location. Could work...

woohoo! I just figured it out!

I went ahead and bought MobileFinder, but I think it might work for other apps as well. In DiskAid, the folder is buried, but it's there.

First, at the bottom of the DiskAid window, select "Root Folder". I think you need a jailbroken iPhone to access the Root Folder.

Then Navigate to:
private > var > mobile > Applications > (GIBBERISH) > Documents

The GIBBERISH that I've indicated is a folder whose name is bunch of letters and numbers and there's one folder (with a GIBBERISH name) for each of my downloaded apps from the itunes store.

This app folder contains the following items: Documents Folder, Libarary Folder, "NameofApp".app Folder (such as MobileFinder.app folder), iTunes Artwork file, iTunesMetadata.plist file and tmp Folder.

In the MobileFinder Documents folder, it contains all of the folders in the Home folder of MobileFinder (Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, Sample Files). Adding documents is easy as drag and drop. I did this on a Mac, so it might be slightly different process on a PC.

I'm pretty excited that I've gotten it to work. Hopefully this is helpful to a few other people as well.

huh??? did i miss something??? why would the phone need to be jailbroken??? we are talking about a "legitimate" app and host software ... should be straightforward process on any iphone ... can someone please confirm. Thanks!

In Diskaid I cannot select Root Folder, I suspect this is the part you need a jailbroken phone for.

Yes, the jailbroken part seems to be pretty key. I had to unlock my phone anyway, because I'm not using the regular AT&T plan so i jailbroke it as well. The whole filesystem that is not accessible without jailbrake and the part that the legitimate apps use, is apparently in the inaccessible part.

It totally works. Just use diskaid and go into the app, and put the docs in. It works with readable docs, but i find a large pdf loads rather slow...

What is the best one to view docks? Datacase?

Diskaid is the stuff though, if you want to move files quickly, wifi is really too slow.
