Hello.

I am about to buy a sealed iphone 6 plus from ebay and I would like to ask Can I activate iphone 6 plus sprint with overseas SIM outside US? and will it be unlocked after that?

if someone had the same experience please share it

waititng for your reply and thank you

There have been reports that the Sprint 6 and 6 plus have come internationally unlocked, so you may be lucky and able to activate on your carrier.

But if not…
• Establish Service with Sprint, pay your bill on time for 90 days and then ask for an international unlock. OR
• Find an unlock provider that does international unlocks for Sprint phones. Usually about $150 with wait time. OR
• Get a SIM interposer. Gevey or R-SIM or whatever else may be out there.

Good luck.

If it's not unlocked you can't activate or use it on any other carrier besides sprint. All sprint iPhones are locked.

Thanks so much for the help

thanks for the reply. I found few trusted people who can unlock the phone but the question is Can they activate the phone and unlock it at the same time?

If they unlock it then the phone will activate fine with any gsm sim in the world.
If its not activating now with your sim that means its locked to Sprint only.

Please let me know the results. i also have an iPhone 5 locked to Sprint. If you successfully unlock yours recommed to me the service you used $150 max

I am interested to see what happens... I bought an iPhone 6 from the Canadian Apple Store and the unlocking process is just installing a non carrier sim plugging the phone in and iTunes unlocks it... All this is done with the phone off until you plug it in and iTunes turns it on...

Thanks so much for the help

Have you tried with any of these people?

I am currently staying in China for a while and bought an 6+ 64GB Sprint iphone on Taobao.com. Had no problem activating the phone with my China Mobile sim card.

Your Sprint iphone must have been unlocked for international use then.
They don't all come like that so consider yourself lucky the person that originally bought it unlocked it.

That's great.

But keep in mind that the only unlock you have is international. If you ever sell this phone to someone in the US, or you come to the US (either returning or moving to) you will only be able to use the phone domestically on Sprint.

Sprint might have allowed it to be unlocked for international use, but they will never have allowed it to be unlocked for domestic US use.

Ah I see, that's okay, I am Dutch and after my stay in China will return home.
BTW I bought my iPhone sealed and unlocked, so for everyone that likes to buy one just check with the seller and make sure it's unlocked.
