Can I burn this on a mac?

Ok, I'm interested in trying boot camp (have an intel iMac btw). I have a windows xp disc, but it is pre SP2. I downloaded the SP2 update, took it to my sister's house and used her pc to slipstream the update into xp. I couldn't burn the disc there though, so I have xp with SP2 slipstreamed and the .img file you need to make a bootable disc... but I haven't made a bootable cd with the files yet. Can I finish making the disc on my mac? Or do I have to use nero or whatever on a windows machine?


Sorry if I sound dumb or something. I took a nero demo to use on her computer, but it said the trial period has already expired.. I guess shes already used a nero trial on her pc before, and she didn't have any good burning software.

as long as you did everything correctly just use diskutility to burn it.

Used this guide btw http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm.

I have the xp folder and microsoft_corporation.img, do I just select the .img and burn that or.. I dunno I'm such a noob, sorry.

Sorry for taking so long, I don't know why nobody else replied.

In Applications/Utilities
you will find an app named Diskutility
mount (double click) the .img file, and you'll notice it showes up in the lower left pane of disk utility.

Put in blank cd
click (highlight) the image file in the lower left pane (the .img file not the mounted image)

click the big burn icon at the top.
