Can I canibalize the processor (I think it's a 2.0ghz Core 2 Duo) from my iMac?

I have a 2006 Mac Mini with a Core Solo that is in need of upgrade. I am reading that I can upgrade the processor as well as replace the HD with SSD. Welp, I have an old iMac that doesn't work anymore (screen dead/won't turn on) but I think the processor is likely still good. Can I salvage the processor from that machine and put it in my Mac Mini?

This project would be a birthday gift for my wife (her computer)... and that's tomorrow so any quick help is appreciated.

the 2006 imac has t7200 t7400 and t7600 and t7700 is in the 2007 these are the white imacs

t1200 t2300 t2400 75600 t7200 and can use up to a t7600. maybe even the t7700 would work.

they need pins. I do not know if your imac is a 2006/2007 with the correct cpu. and I am not sure your imac have pin based cpus .

It's a white iMac, 17" I think. I don't have access to the unit right now and won't until late today so until then it's speculation. I guess in more broad terms I guess knowing if any of the processors from the couple iMacs it could be would work could help. It looks like I can order a compatible Core 2 Duo chip for $29 refurb. It's just that I don't have time.

I salvaged a T7200 from an older Lenovo laptop. The trick is some chips have pins, some have balls. It will be the same number of contacts, but different contact mechanism. This was 3 years ago but I recall looking up the chip version which was something like SL9SF for the pin version and SL9S7 for the ball version? This is just off the top of my head so apologies if one or both of those arent the actual models.
