Totally agree. I am in the middle of untangling my own hellish mess of accounts now and I think it is ridiculous that this is so hard. I started buying music on iTunes back in 2005 when I was a PC user. Created my first appleid at that time. Two years later, was prompted by iTunes to create a second AppleID, which I did. Then last month when I became a Mac person and subscribed to MobileMe, the guy in the store prompted me to create a MobileMe ID and never said a WORD about ANY of the following:
* Your MobileMe ID cannot EVER be changed, so think carefully and be sure you pick a name you like and can live with
* If you already have an Apple ID, you will have to figure out the relationship between your AppleID and your new MobileMe ID
* Consolidating accounts is an absolute BITCH.
Would have been nice if the sales person had said something like, "Do you have any Apple IDs already? I'd like to make sure your accounts are all well-coordinated so that you can have the smooth, seamless Apple experience that you want."
Are you listening, Steve Jobs?
