I love the new Yosemite look in almost every way.. Except for those horrible blue folder icons!

It used to be easy using CandyBar to switch out icons, but I recall that changed around OSX 10.9?

Is there any way yet for me to change all my blue folder icons in OSX for some slick black ones?

It's disappointing a design choice like this is thrust upon us by Apple.. We can switch to dark mode; turn the blue selections into graphite.. But they think we should all stick with horrible blue folders!

Thanks

liteicon works; you change the generic folder, and you're good.

on this site, check out the etched icons... i used them for my entire system folders/icons; really nice work (from the dude who gave us the black menubar for previous os x'es....

Yes
Just tried it, with a 512X512 icon image salvaged from Mountain lion. Ran the png thru Photoshop then copy paste thru Preview, to preserve transparency.
Put that result into liteicon, and my generic folders are no longer that annoying electric-blue.
-Never noticed the dust spots on those old folder icons at the large size. Apple did a nice job making the things look real.
