iPad Can I charge an USB C iPad Pro with the USBC charger from my M1 16in MacBook Pro

I went away for the 4th of July. I left my iPad Pro charger at a relatives house. They are 3 hrs away and will mail it to me. In the meantime a friend says I charge it with my MacBook Pro M1 USB C charger. Just want to verify. Do not want to damage the iPad Pro. Thanks in Advance.
