Hello,

I have what I think is a pretty simple question. Yet, I don't know the answer.

My wife's Shuffle is formatted for my mac. She always uses my computer to charge it, get songs, etc...However, she's going to be gone for a few months for school, and won't have access to a mac.

Can she simply connect (via USB) her Shuffle to a Windows computer and charge it? Or, will connecting it to a Windows computer affect her formatting? Will it try to reformat the Shuffle?

Thanks.

If iTunes is installed on the Windows machine, it will launch and inform you that the iPod is synced to another computer. You can cancel the snc and it should still charge.

If no iTunes, Windows will probably look for and install drivers, but again you should be able to charge.
