I have a mbp, and a macbook charger....can I charge the pro with the regukar charger?
is it safe? or will something explode?

The MacBook Pro requires 85 Watts to charge and the MacBook requires 60 Watts to charge. You can charge the MacBook with the MacBook Pro charger but not vice versa. It will most likely power it up but not charge it.

you can use the MB's power support to run or charge a MBP, but not both.

If the MBP is turned on, it will be powered from the MB's power supply, but it will not supply enough current to charge. If you power the MBP off, the MB's power supply will be enough to charge it.
