I have a 14" M1 Pro MBP. It's connected to an OWC Thunderbolt 3 dock. I currently have an NEC 4K 27" monitor connected to the dock, and the dock connected to my M1 Pro MBP.

I bought an ASD (still waiting for it). I'd like to connect both the ASD and 4K NEC to my M1 Pro at the same time. In reading the specs of the OWC dock, it says "connect two 4K displays or one 5K display". Seems like it's not possible to connect both the ASD and 4K display using this dock.

Any ideas for how I can accomplish this?

Let me understand this. You are connecting your current 4K display to the dock or the Mac?

Have you thought of connecting the dock to the Mac (and by extension the 4k) and the ASD to the Mac?

If I can, I'd like to connect both the ASD and the 4K display to a dock, and then just have the dock plugged in to the MBP. One cable to plug/unplug, that's the goal. I'm using my MBP as my desktop when I'm at home.

Apparently, the OWC Thunderbolt 3 dock that I have can't do this. I'm looking into the CalDigit Powerstation TB4, which looks like it supports dual 6K monitors.
