The page does not load, but your iMac can not handle the resolution. Maximum is 1920x1600 i think

No, your iMac cannot display that resolution. The max is 1920x1600. You could still use the monitor, but the resolution will be scaled down, but you'd be wasting your money for the extra resolution.

Is there not any adaptor I can get, or any solution at all, to allowing me use it with my iMac? I really need a high res monitor. Higher than my iMac.

Yeah you should be able to power that just fine - you *may* need to use an app like SwitchResX. The DVI standard can support resolutions up to

You may be able to drive that monitor but you may need to use SwitchResX. The DVI standard could maybe be stretched to run at those resolutions. Single link DVI usually matches whatever VGA could handle and VGA can handle 2048x1536. What connections does it have? The page won't load for me but unless it specifies that it uses Dual Link DVI then it should be fine.

Can you post the model # or something of the monitor?

Looks like Dell SP2309W.

Apple's support site seems to indicate a difference between DVI and VGA capability.

Support for external display in extended desktop mode
Digital resolutions up to 1920 by 1200 pixels
Analog resolutions up to 2048 by 1536 pixels

Cheers,

Well the monitor the link has a VGA connection. If I go from my iMac Mini-DVI to VGA into the monitor it should work shouldn't it? Its 2048 x 1152.
