Can I Delete My LinkedIn Acct.??

Is "Closing" and "Deleting" one's Linkedin account the same thing?
I not only want to close my acct. - but would like to expunge/delete all personal info too (if possible).
Was told that "closing" is not the same as "deleting." ??
Web search is kinda vague and/or even contradictory.
Any suggestions? Thanks !

How is anyone here supposed to know what happens on their servers once you close your account? Maybe it gets deleted after 30 days. Maybe after 180 days. Maybe never.

The only way to know for sure is to contact Microsoft and ask them.
