Hi guys my iMac storage is 2tb.
I'm wanting to free up space and noticed that I have a final cut pro file that is 1.3tb in size.

Do i just right click on this and hit delete and thats it?
I don't have any current projects in my FXP that I'm working on.

Just want to be sure that its safe to simply delete this without affecting the program or plugins I have purchased for it.

Cheers.

I don't use FCP but why not transfer it to an external drive? (or take into account that it's a part of your 'Backup' program if you need to reverse your decision?).

The thing is, Im thinking it is the back up. As i have all my files dumped externally when using FXP. Just not 100% sure if it'll affect anything else.

Delete all, no problem!!
The FCP LIBRARY is a container only for media and rendering.
All effects and plugs ? remain safe

Well...the smartest thing would be to fun FCP and then "open" that library. You have two libraries, "Test" and "Untitled." They contain all of the projects, events, media, renders, etc. That's a huge library to just delete. I'd open it in FCP and see what it contains. You might have some precious memories in there and if you just delete it without looking you risk trashing something you thought was in another library. Based upon the size of those two Libraries, that is your main library, as the other is only 630 KB. Better safe than sorry.

Yes, you can delete it.
Just be sure it's nothing you want to keep.

But again, YES, you can delete it.
