Hi. Other then using the system folder to turn off the keyboard light. I am looking for a file I can edit to actually perm turn the keyboard backlight from coming on.

I recall in the past you can remove this file under
Library / Preferences com.apple.iokit.AmbientLightSensor.plist

But I don't see this anymore under el captain.

Any ideas ?

Just use the built in options: Unset the "Adjust keyboard brightness in low light" checkbox under keyboard settings and then hold down F5 until the keyboard light turns off.

It won't come back on automatically unless you set the checkbox again

Hi. I see that. But I want a more perm solution. I just don't want someone going back in to enable that's why I want to have more of a perm solution

I see there's a way since when you go into recovery mode, the keyboard light does not function. So there must be a script or an option. Any ideas?
