Hi there,

Let say, I want to have a second iPhone as a backup phone, and I already have my first iPhone and iPhone SIM activated with iTunes... Can I:

- pop the 1st iPhone SIM into the second phone without activate?
- if not, can I activate the 2nd iPhone with the first "iPhone SIM"?

Basically, I am trying to have 2 iPhones activated and share one SIM if possible...

Yes, as this would be the same as when Apple gives you a loaner phone, you simply change the cards out and restore / activate from iTunes.

Great. I'll try this out. Totally make sense too (the repair/loaner phone part). Thanks!

If you do this, will the phone with no SIM card in it still be useful? I'm not sure that it will do anything more than look nice sitting on your desk. Has anyone confirmed that it will work once you put in an activated SIM card, then remove it?
