Can I download iOS 10 for a phone I don't yet have to iTunes?

Hi,

My gf just bought a new 6S. I said I would put ios10 on via itunes. Is there anyway I can get iTunes to download the firmware without the phone being present, so she doesn't have to wait 2 - 3 hours for it to download when she gets there. I only want it from Apple not another site with the ipsw file.

Other than getting it elsewhere, there's no way of getting iOS 10 from iTunes without plugging the iPhone into a computer first.

You can download it from:

It uses Apple's servers, so it's literally the same thing as downloading it from iTunes.
