I really, really want a separate device for creative work, but I also really want device to read books on at night (I'm a phone addict and waste hours chatting on social media when I should be reading or sleeping partly due to friends in different time zones).

So I need simple apps for editing images and videos, but powerful ones that make the output look pro. Is there a problem you guys run into on the 11inch screen being too.. busy or cramped on some of the more powerful apps?

And what about note taking, do you run out of space or anything irritating on the 11inch screen? Definitely so much better for me to have the 11inch for reading at night, but I am on the fence about the creative stuff.

Any ideas?

I can’t speak about the 11, but editing images and video and other such creative tasks on the 12.9 is absolutely the best digital experience for such things that I have ever come across in my many years. Screen size I imagine is more of a preference than an absolute necessity - otherwise I would say the experience will be identical.

can‘t say much about video, but developing editing photos from my DSLR or mirrorless is a joy. I recommend strongly getting a pencil and something like a Samsung T5 or T7 as external backup option.

There’s always a learning curve if you want to escape the ‘insta-filter’ fad and get proper results.

I use Lightroom, pixelmator photo, affinity photo (photo); lumafusion and Alight Motion (video) among other stuff
